More and more EPCs rely on Engineering Base

Consistent data - from service provider to owner to operator

A central data model for cross-discipline work from the first ideas to the finest detail. In Engineering Base (EB), each object exists only once, and every change or addition is directly visible to everyone – resulting in exceptional consistency even across company boundaries. As EPCs have to juggle particularly complex projects and many suppliers along with the associated data, more and more of them are switching to the platform. This, in turn, is a tremendous advantage for owners and operators.

Even in the first early phase, when owners decide to build a new plant, they benefit from Engineering Base. Even the basic concept of the plant can be created in EB, and this can even be done by the owners themselves. The owners can then pass this data on to their engineering service providers. If the latter also work with EB, this creates a unique consistency of data, from front-end engineering design (FEED) to process and detail engineering. And operators also benefit from this later on – after all, retrofitting and preparations for maintenance can also be implemented with EB.

Another advantage: if both EPC and owners and operators work with EB, everyone ends up with a complete digital twin across all disciplines. Data no longer has to be merged from different tools; everyone can work together on an interdisciplinary basis. Operators and EPC can cooperate on EB, data is consistently available across all areas. And the plant is handed over to the operator virtually turnkey, together with its complete digital twin.
