Understanding comes before efficiency

Michael Riekenberg (36) gained more than 10 years of experience as an information technician at DB (German railway company) and the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces). He tested and repaired mobile telecommunication systems and was an IT system administrator in Afghanistan before he continued his postgraduate studies to become a state-certified electrical engineer. In 2012 he started at AUCOTEC in ELCAD support. Personal customer contact and friendly interaction are very important to him. As project manager, Mr Riekenberg is now responsible for the implementation of Engineering Base (EB) including customizing, installation and training. He is also an expert in data migration from ELCAD to EB, as he knows both systems inside out.

The enthusiastic sportsman and family man has already completed two Ironman triathlons, but has reduced his training programme to football for his two children. If there's any time left, he does weight training. This way, he gets the necessary power to master the next AUCOTEC project. "My goal is always for a customer's workflows to end up much more efficient than they started, and to do that you have to understand the processes. I particularly enjoy that," says Mr Riekenberg. His motto: "When our customers can master their challenges and tackle the digital future thanks to EB, that's when I can be satisfied".
