Engineering Base Opens Doors for Marantec:

Marantec GmbH & Co KG is a leading manufacturer of automatic door drive and control systems. The development is based in Germany, with 10 locations. With over 20 distribution and production centers from Austria to Australia and global exports to more than 50 countries Marantec attests to its internationality. Experience, know-how and pleasure from innovative engineering are the catchwords with which all staff members at Marantec readily identify. In this context it is fitting that for planning and documenting their solutions they now bank on Engineering Base (EB), the objectoriented and database-driven platform from AUCOTEC.

Convincing

Single drawings without connection to the project, the lack of a uniform symbol library as well as different file designations made work for the drive professionals difficult. Therefore they specified requirements for their future projecting tool that were convincingly met by EB. This includes quick and easy finding of old drawings, network compatibility, layout diagrams based on circuit diagrams, language selection or fast navigation between the different views – including different aspects of a component. Other important details were moreover the representation of complex circuits as blocks or a single-pole circuit representation.

Flexible and Safe

Crucial reasons for the Marantec choice are easy handling via the familiar drawing interface of Microsoft Visio as well as the consistent database and project orientation of Engineering Base. The Marantec engineers highly esteem the resulting flexibility of the data structure. Drawings can be sorted and filed very easily, with the user himself determining the structure. Data consistency is thus ensured in all views.
